Homeowners throughout the UK have without doubt been enjoying their gardens this year, as evidenced by the fact that sales of gardening and DIY retail products grew by almost 50%.

Creating an escape
Paul Duffy, Managing Director of Onduline, comments: “Gardening and DIY definitely emerged as two key lockdown pastimes, but as well as filling the void of time many felt during lockdown, it also gave people the chance to create more useable space in the garden, allowing them to ‘escape’ their four walls.
“This is a trend I don’t see slowing down any time soon. With the increasing trend in working from home many are looking at what they can do to ensure they have a dedicated space, not only for working but for relaxing and entertaining. One such way to do this is to invest in outdoor buildings, which can be regarded as an extension of the home rather than just a place to store tools or machinery.
“We are also seeing our customers giving their existing outdoor buildings, such as a shed, a quick makeover to ensure it can provide another purpose, whether it be an office or even a bar!
“For garden centres there is a great opportunity this year to look beyond the ‘normal’ gardening or DIY season and see products, such as Onduline roofing systems, as an essential part of home renovation.”

Garden sheds are no longer just somewhere to store your gardening tools, paint or Christmas decorations. Instead they are now being regarded as an extra room in the home. Whilst many have transformed their garden sheds into playhouses or offices spaces, some are being more adventurous and creating their own pub shed or shed bar!
The lucky owners of this DIY Garden Bar have brought the 'pub' to their home and have created their own relaxing and socially distanced drinking hole.
To help complete the look, the couple chose ONDULINE CLASSIC sheets in grey, which not only makes it more striking in design but also ensures it stays waterproof and wind resistant – meaning it can stay open all year round. ONDULINE CLASSIC sheets are also available in black, brown and red.
