CASE STUDY: THE CHICKENSHED
Modern holiday rental with a ‘CLASSIC’ look
Nestling in the Welsh countryside is the Chickenshed, formerly home to flocks of hens but which has been transformed with the help of ONDULINE CLASSIC roofing panels into a luxurious, contemporary holiday rental.
A key objective of the re-build was that the new design should fit into its picturesque Monmouthshire surroundings while retaining echoes of the building’s agricultural roots.

Keeping in with nature
This was achieved using CLASSIC bituminous corrugated roofing and cladding sheets in black, along with concrete floors and further cladding in cedar wood.
The old wooden shed had been left abandoned for decades but its structure and footprint have been retained and now offers four double bedrooms, three bathrooms and views over the Wye Valley and Black Mountains.

Advanced thermal performance
ONDULINE CLASSIC sheets benefit from advanced thermal performance and provide acoustic comfort inside a building.
They provide exceptional durability that allows them to withstand extreme weather conditions, from wind, rain and snow to very hot weather.
The material used to create the bitumen corrugated roof sheets is highly resistant to the strongest winds and does not corrode because it does not contain any metal.
It features a unique technology that combines cellulosic fibres and selected bitumen for exceptional waterproofing and is made from 50% - 60% recycled materials making it the perfect eco-friendly material for this beautiful property.
