An original example of the use of ONDUVILLA tiles can be found in Italy, where, in 2013, the first Tree Village was built in the Dolomite Natural Park in Friuli, in the province of Pordenone.
The Tree Village consists of several tree houses, all at different heights and with different surface areas, and features, each of which can be booked for an unforgettable holiday in the midst of the pristine forest. The wooden houses, designed according to the shape of the trees and their positioning, are secured with special fixings and supports that do not burden the trees themselves.
The owners, who created and built all the houses themselves, were looking for an extremely lightweight and perfectly waterproof roofing system, which would be beautiful and in harmony with the natural environment of the forest.
After careful research they chose Onduvilla, corrugated bituminous fibre tiles, developed and produced by Onduline. They really appreciated the ease of handling and workability: notwithstanding the height of the houses from the ground, the installation was very easy.
