FAQs
How much weight can ISOLINE LOW LINE take on top?
ISOLINE LOW LINE can comfortably carry some of the heaviest roofing tiles on the market such as concrete and stone tiles. The weight of stone tiles can sometimes reach up to 100kg/m2. This loading is well within the capacity of the ISOLINE LOW LINE sheet.
For weights over 100kg/m2 please contact us for advice.
Can I install a Roof Window with ISOLINE?
Yes, in most cases it is possible to integrate a roof window with ISOLINE LOW LINE as the sub-roof. There are several types of roof windows on the market (fixed skylight, openable, conservation, low pitch etc.).
Exact detailing will depend on the roof window type. Different manufacturers may have varying details for each window type, including a range of flashings. Please contact your roof window manufacturer for specific models to check compatibility. Design integration is done by others. This will typically be a roof designer, an architect or specialist roofing contractor.
How long can ISOLINE LOW LINE be left exposed without a tile covering?
We recommend a maximum of 3 months.
Do you need to use a Breathable Membrane in conjunction with ISOLINE LOW LINE?
This will depend on application. For waterproofing purposes, you do not need to use a breathable membrane with ISOLINE LOW LINE; however, in a dwelling where Building Regulations apply you might be expected to have one. Please check your local building requirements for your specific project. If you need to use a membrane, we recommend you use one from the ONDUTISS AIR range.
Heritage Specific: Is ISOLINE LOW LINE safe for Bats?
Research from the Bat Conservation Trust revealed that all non–woven roofing membranes, produced using spun-bond filaments could pose a serious threat to bats as a result of entanglement. ISOLINE bitumen corrugated sheets are not classed as membrane and are not produced using the above method. However, ISOLINE sheets are widely used in conjunction with breathable membranes. If bat safety is a requirement than we recommend ISOLINE to be used in conjunction with a “bat-safe” membrane (supplied by others).
