Allotment outhouse re-roof

Allotment gardener Danni of Instagram account Plot.81 was delighted to partner up with us to re-roof her much loved Victorian brick outhouse that she inherited since taking over the allotment garden in June 2017.

The ONDUVILLA tile system was chosen for the project and complements the heritage and traditional look of the building.

Our ONDUVILLA tiles are perfect for those seeking a traditional tiled effect for their garden buildings, not only are the tiles eco-friendly, they are also light in weight and are very easy to install as shown by Danni and her friend.

The installation looks fantastic and is completely watertight and ready for Danni to tackle the interior.

Danni said: "I have always loved tiled roofs, so decided on the Onduvilla roof tile sheets in brown to create a similar effect (with a lot less hassle!) Underneath we used the Ondutiss vapour permeable membrane to create a secondary barrier and to minimise condensation drips".

Installation Steps

The final installation was quick and easy and looks fantastic! Don't just take our word for it, watch the installation video below:

Danni's fantastic installation:

“The new shed in all its glory - swipe for a pretty dramatic makeover!

I’ve been dreaming of restoring the beautiful Victorian brick outhouse that I inherited since I took over my allotment garden in June 2017, so I was over the moon when @ondulineuk got in touch and asked to partner up on the project

Onduline offer eco friendly and sustainable roofing solutions, they pay close attention to their manufacturing process, designing products to be low in energy consumption and generating no dangerous waste. By using high-tech recycling processes, Onduline recycle around 80,000 tons of material each year and have achieved a positive carbon footprint, which is significantly lower than all other roofing providers!

I have always loved tiled roofs, so decided on the Onduvilla roof tile sheets in brown to create a similar effect (with a lot less hassle!) Underneath we used the Ondutiss vapour permeable membrane to create a secondary barrier and to minimise condensation drips.

The roof was ridiculously easy to put together, like a fun giant jigsaw puzzle - all of the pieces were just slotted together before securing with watertight screws (that drilled in like butter)

I absolutely adore my new roof, it looks like a tiny house and makes such a change from the shingle or felt you usually see on sheds (i actually bought a big roll of felt before @ondulineuk got in touch!)

The roof is super strong, sturdy enough to walk on and is guaranteed to last at least 15 years - so I’m really happy to have been able to restore this shed for the future keepers of plot 81.

Biggest of thanks to @ondulineuk for sponsoring the rebuild, and of course to @_hayz_ hayz_ for her mega free time building skills it would still look like frame 2 if it wasn’t for her!"
